Terms and Conditions
Terms and Conditions
Effective date: June 6, 2026
Acceptance of these terms
By using this site, or by submitting an inquiry through the Start a Commission form, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or submit an inquiry.
What this site is
This site is a public gallery and inquiry channel for J. Miller Studio, the fine-art studio of Jeff Miller. No checkout, payment processing, deposits, customer accounts, file uploads, or customer portal is active on this site today.
Commission inquiries
Submitting an inquiry starts a conversation only. An inquiry does not create a commission, a booking, an acceptance, an obligation, or a final price. The studio reviews inquiries and responds to the ones it can take on.
Commission process and pricing
Commissions proceed only under a written agreement, and any required deposit is set out in that agreement before work begins. Commissions begin around $1,000. Final scope and final price are settled through consultation and the written agreement for each commission.
Originals and availability
Artwork shown on this site is presented as portfolio work unless a piece is explicitly marked as available. Display of a painting here is not an offer to sell it; availability is confirmed through inquiry.
Reference materials you supply
If you supply reference photos or other reference material, you agree that you own that material or have permission to use and share it, and you grant J. Miller Studio permission to use it to evaluate and create your requested commission. The studio may decline reference material at its discretion.
Images, video, and creation films
J. Miller Studio may photograph and film the creation process and the finished artwork. The studio may display, reproduce, publish, and post those photographs and videos on this website and on its social media and marketing channels for portfolio and promotional purposes, unless you opt out in writing before work begins or a written agreement for your commission says otherwise. Where a piece depicts an identifiable person, a private home or interior, or similarly sensitive material, the studio may ask for additional written permission before public use. The complete creation film for a commission is delivered privately to the client and remains private unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Copyright and ownership
Unless a written agreement says otherwise, Jeff Miller retains the copyright and all reproduction rights in every artwork he creates, including commissioned works. Purchase or commission of a painting transfers ownership of the physical artwork only. No right to reproduce, commercially exploit, mint, tokenize, merchandise, or authorize third-party use of the artwork is granted without the studio's written permission.
Site content
All content on this site, including images, video clips, and text, belongs to J. Miller Studio or is used with permission. You may not copy, scrape, redistribute, or use site content without written permission, except for ordinary personal viewing and sharing of links to the site.
Third-party services
The site is hosted on Netlify, and inquiry submissions are processed by Netlify Forms. Typefaces are served by Google Fonts. Use of the site involves those providers receiving standard web requests, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers and limitation
The site and its content are provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, J. Miller Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, unless a written agreement for a specific commission says otherwise.
Changes to these terms
The studio may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows the current version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Questions
